KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The United Soccer Coaches announced the 2023 NCAA Division II Women's Scholar All-Americans and Columbus State University junior forward Emma Beddow was named to the prestigious team.

"Our entire staff is thrilled for Emma since this award captures the true meaning behind a student-athlete," said head women's soccer coach Jay Entlich. "Emma excelled both on and off the field, which shows that academics and athletics can form an incredible relationship."

A Kinesiology major, Beddow made a 3.40 grade-point average, earning her a spot on the Scholar All-America Second Team. A first-team All-Conference and All-Region selection, Beddow led Columbus State with 14 goals, 11 assists, 39 points and a 0.557 shots on goal percentage. She started and played in all 21 games for the Cougars as the leading scorer with five game-winning goals.

The Savannah, Ga. native also was 3-for-4 in penalty goals. She was fourth in the PBC in goals, second in assists and third in points. She is tied for 13th in PBC career goals and is 12th in career points.

"Emma had a tremendous year on the field, leading our team in so many categories, and she also had an amazing semester in the classroom by helping our team reach an overall team GPA of 3.73," mentioned Entlich.

This is Beddow's second All-American honor from the United Soccer Coaches, her first one being awarded in 2022.
