COLUMBUS – No. 3 Columbus State University Women's Soccer continues Peach Belt Conference play with a home matchup against in-state rival Clayton State (Ga.) on Wednesday night at 6 p.m. ET.
A pair of undefeated teams are set to clash at the Walden Soccer Complex as the Lady Cougars (9-0-1, 3-0-0 PBC) welcome the Lakers (7-0-3, 2-0-2 PBC) for the annual CSU Sea of Red game.
Columbus State returns to Columbus after defeating Flagler (Fla.) in a 2-1 victory in St. Augustine, Fla. while Clayton State is coming off a 0-0 draw at Lander (S.C.) on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Cougars have defeated the Lakers 21 out of the 24 times the two programs have met, riding a dominant 12-game winning streak.
Clayton State comes to the Walden Soccer Complex with a 7-0-3 overall record and a 2-0-2 PBC slate. Offensively, the Lakers are led by a two-headed monster in Carrie Consolino and Amiah Sprunger-Hightower who have combined for 55 points this season. Consolino currently leads NCAA Division II in total goals with 13 while Sprunger-Hightower is tied for fourth with 10 goals.
The Lakers' offense has produced 32 goals, averaging 3.2 goals per contest while also recording 19 shots per game for a 54.7% (140-of-190) shot on goal percentage. Clayton State boasts the fourth-best team in DII in total assists with 29.
On the defensive end, Clayton State has allowed five goals and allows an average of just 8.4 shots per game. As a team, the Lakers have notched 39 saves this season with 37 coming from the efforts of Trinity Chastain who has notched a 6-0-3 record in between the posts.
Columbus State continues as one of the best attacks in DII, leading as the top team in total goals (56), total assists (36), total points (148), goals per game (5.60), shots per game (25.1), and shots on goal per game (14.4).
The CSU attack has produced 10 student-athletes with nine or more points while seven have totaled double digits. Out of the 36 team assists, 15 individuals have recorded at least one assist with seven of those assisting two or more.
Emma Beddow leads the way with 20 points and is tied for first in Division II in assists with eight and has totaled six goals so far.

Ui Suzuki, and Beddow lead the goal scoring efforts with six apiece and are followed by six others who have scored four goals each.
The Columbus State defense has held opponents to just seven goals this season, allowing an average of 7.1 shots per game. As a team, CSU has totaled 17 saves with 16 coming from the efforts of
Heidi Harris in goal, boasting a 9-0-1 record.
Wednesday's clash is set for 6 p.m. ET at the Walden Soccer Complex. The match will be streamed on the
