AUGUSTA, Ga. – Columbus State University women's soccer student-athlete Anna LaBarbera has been announced as the Peach Belt Conference Defender of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon.
 
LaBarbera helped lead the Lady Cougar backline in a pair of PBC wins over Clayton State (Ga.) and USC Aiken (S.C.). She tallied 169 minutes for the week, recording an assist in the 3-0 win over USC Aiken. Monday's honor is the first weekly honor for LaBarbera and the second this season for Columbus State.
 
Columbus State's defense held their opponents to a combined seven shots with four on goal in 180 minutes of action. LaBarbera played in all 90 minutes in the 1-0 win over Clayton State where the Lady Cougars held the Lakers to just four shots. She followed with 79 minutes of play on Saturday in Aiken, helping the CSU defense hold the Pacers to three shots.
 
The Lady Cougars sit atop of the PBC standings with a clean 5-0 conference record and an overall record of 11-0-1. CSU returns to play on Wednesday night, welcoming Georgia Southwestern to the Walden Soccer Complex for a 6 p.m. ET kick off.
