COLUMBUS – The Columbus State University Women's Soccer team put together a commanding performance on Saturday afternoon, earning a 2–0 Peach Belt Conference victory over Flagler College at the Walden Soccer Complex.
The Lady Cougars controlled play early, generating repeated pressure with nine corner kicks and 10 shots in the opening half. Their persistence was rewarded in the 23rd minute when
Skye Tumbelty broke the deadlock, slotting home her first goal of the season to give CSU a 1–0 lead.
Columbus State continued to dictate the tempo after halftime, keeping Flagler's defense on its heels with another 10 shots.
Michelle Medina delivered the insurance goal in the 77th minute, finishing off a sequence inside the box to secure her fourth score of the season and put CSU ahead 2–0.
Goalkeeper
Heidi Harris was sharp in the net, recording four saves to post her third shutout of the year. The Cougar defense limited the Saints to just eight total shots and only one corner kick across 90 minutes.
With the win, Columbus State improved to (5-4-1) overall and (3-1-0) in PBC play, while Flagler dropped to (3-4-2) overall and (1-3-1) in the Peach Belt.
