COLUMBUS – Columbus State senior guard
Jydon Hall has been named the Chick-fil-A Athlete of the Week, and he earned it after a strong two-game stretch for the Cougars.
The Salt Lake, Hawaii native and Business Management major came out firing on Friday against Southern Wesleyan, putting up 23 points on an impressive 10-of-15 shooting. He did a little bit of everything—grabbing five boards, dishing out three assists, and racking up seven steals.
Hall kept the momentum going the next day against North Greenville, adding 15 more points and a pair of assists to cap a weekend where he averaged 19.0 points and shot 57%. His steadying presence on both ends of the floor played a major role in Columbus State's competitiveness throughout the crossover.
What makes Hall's recognition even more meaningful is the perspective he carries with him. When asked who he'd most like to share a dinner with—anyone in the world, past or present—Hall didn't hesitate. He said, "My great grandpa, just to show him how far I've come."
That mindset reflects the same drive and gratitude he brings to the court, making this week's honor a well-deserved one for the Cougar senior.
