LIVINGSTON, Ala. — The Columbus State Women's Basketball team handled business on the road Wednesday night, knocking off West Alabama 75-66.
The Lady Cougars put together a balanced, high-energy effort inside Pruitt Hall, using defensive pressure and steady scoring stretches to control the game. Columbus State forced 26 turnovers and turned them into 19 points, while also piling up 46 points in the paint.
Letiya Reeves led the way with another standout performance, pouring in 28 points and grabbing seven rebounds in 30 minutes of play. The senior guard hit big shots all night and provided a scoring spark whenever Columbus State needed it.
Nekaya Williams added 13 points, six boards, and five steals, and the Lady Cougar bench stepped up again with 26 points, highlighted by key minutes from
Jamilah Jackson and
Alana Hankerson.
Columbus State outscored West Alabama 18-9 in the second quarter to grab control, then answered every push in the second half to close out the win.
With the victory, Columbus State moves to 4-1 and now turns its attention to Sunday's home matchup against West Florida at the Lumpkin Center, with tip-off set for 4:00 p.m.
