AUGUSTA, Ga. – Columbus State junior guard
Lee Langstaff II has been named the Peach Belt Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for December 8 after a dominant three-game stretch that helped the Cougars go (2-1) on the week.
Langstaff opened the week with a statement performance on December 2 against Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, pouring in 26 points in just 17 minutes, shooting 8-for-10 from the field, 5-for-6 from three, and a perfect 5-for-5 at the free-throw line, while adding 3 assists and 4 steals in the Cougars' 103–64 win.
He continued his strong play in Columbus State's Peach Belt opener on December 3, finishing with 12 points, going 4-for-9 from the floor, 1-for-2 from deep, and 3-for-5 at the line, while also contributing 2 rebounds, an assist, and a steal in a key conference victory over Lander.
Langstaff capped the week with another balanced effort on December 6 against Flagler, scoring 18 points on 4-of-8 shooting, knocking down 2 threes, and finishing 8-of-10 at the line, along with 2 rebounds and 2 assists in a tight matchup inside the Lumpkin Center.
Across the three-game span, Langstaff averaged 18.7 points, shot 64% from the field, and connected on 67% of his three-point attempts.
Langstaff and the Cougars return to Peach Belt Conference action on Wednesday, December 10, traveling to Dahlonega, Ga., to take on the University of North Georgia at 7:30 p.m.
