COLUMBUS - Columbus State University men's basketball continues to roll this season with yet another highlight to add to an already historic season, receiving the program's highest national ranking according to the latest National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) poll.
 
The Cougars have elevated to sixth in the latest NABC poll, setting a new program record for the highest national ranking in CSU men's basketball history. CSU was previously ranked seventh last week but moved up a spot after receiving 309 voting points.
 
Columbus State finished the regular season with a 25-3 overall record while also going 16-2 in Peach Belt Conference action. The sixth-ranked Cougars begin postseason play as the first-overall seed in the PBC Tournament, playing host to eight-seeded Georgia Southwestern on Wednesday night.
 
CSU is the top seed in the tournament for the first time since holding the top seed in the west division during 2016. This season's 16 PBC wins is the most conference wins for CSU since the 2005-06 campaign while the 25 regular-season wins are the most for Head Coach Robert Moore and the most for the men's program since the 2002-03 season.
 
The Cougars have also been impressive in the stat lines, averaging 80.8 points per contest with a 9.3 scoring margin over opponents, scoring nearly 300 more points than their opponents. CSU is shooting 47.4% from the floor, 36.1% from three, and 71.9% from the foul line. Leading the way for the Cougars is Jarrett Adderton, who has dominated the conference as a four-time PBC Player of the Week this season.
 
Adderton averages 20.1 points and 5.9 rebounds per game while also averaging 2.1 assists and 1.8 steals per contest. He has scored the second-most single-game points in the PBC this season with his career-high 36 at USC Beaufort and has 20-plus points in 15 contests and 30-plus three times.
 
Jehloni James also averages double-digit points, with 14.6 per game while adding an average of 7.0 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per contest. Wisdom Uboh adds an average of 13.0 ppg as well and produces 3.5 assists per game.
