COLUMBUS – Columbus State University cheerleader
Brooklyn Sumbry has been named the Columbus State Athletics Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Chick-fil-A on Macon Road and Chick-fil-A on Manchester Expressway.
A sophomore from Phenix City, Ala., Sumbry is a member of the Columbus State Athletics Cheerleading team and continues to make a positive impact through her energy, commitment, and school spirit while supporting Cougar Athletics across campus.
Sumbry is majoring in Communications at Columbus State and is a graduate of Central High School in Phenix City, Ala. Following graduation, she plans to pursue a career working in sports, combining her passion for athletics with her communications background.
If given the chance to compete in another sport, Sumbry says she would choose football — "so I can do a touchdown celebration."
The Columbus State Athletics Student-Athlete of the Week award recognizes student-athletes for excellence in athletics, academics, leadership, and service, and is presented weekly during the academic year.
