COLUMBUS – The top-seeded Columbus State women's tennis team won its 11th straight match with a 4-1 victory over No. 37 Middle Georgia State University on Saturday morning in the Semifinal round of the 2026 Peach Belt Conference Championship at the John W. Walden Tennis Center.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Columbus State grabbed the doubles point with wins at Nos. 3 and 2, respectively.
- Grad student Annie Adams and junior Maria Markosov teamed up for a 6-1 win in the third doubles flight, with the duo of senior Nikoline Gullacksen and junior Monika Temkova won 6-3 at No. 2.
- Temkova opened singles play with a dominant 6-3, 6-2 win in the second flight, followed by a 7-5, 6-1 win on court one from the Peach Belt Player of the Year (12) Gullacksen over the nation's 65th-ranked singles player.
- Senior Laura Pesickova finished off the match with a 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 win in the No. 5 matchup to move Columbus State onto the tournament finale.
