COLUMBUS – The second-seeded Columbus State men's tennis team, ranked No. 3 in the latest ITA Poll, suffered a 4-1 loss to third-seeded, fourth-ranked Flagler College in the second round of the 2026 NCAA Division II Southeast Regional at the John W. Walden Tennis Center.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Saints opened doubles play with a 6-0 win at No. 3, before the CSU duo of senior Thomas Cardona and junior Samer Al Tori won 6-2 in the second doubles flight to even the score.
- Flagler won the doubles point with a 7-5 triumph at No. 1 to build an early 1-0 match lead.
- Singles play began with back-to-back straight set wins at Nos. 3 and 2 for Flagler, followed by a 7-6 (7-2), 6-1 victory on court four by Andrea Sandrone, giving Columbus State its first point of the day.
- Flagler finished off the match with a three-set decision in the sixth flight to earn the regional berth to the NCAA Championships later this month.
