COLUMBUS, Ga. | Columbus State University Women's Soccer senior forward Shania Wegesend has been named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week following a three-goal performance that helped the Cougars post an unbeaten 1-0-1 record.

Wegesend delivered a hat trick in Columbus State's thrilling 4-3 comeback victory over North Georgia on Wednesday at the Walden Soccer Complex. She opened the scoring just 29 seconds into the match before the Cougars eventually found themselves trailing 3-1 in the second half.

After CSU pulled within one, Wegesend struck again in the 83rd minute to level the match at 3-3. She completed the hat trick with the game-winning goal at 88:52, capping the Cougars' comeback with their third unanswered goal over the final 22 minutes.

Wegesend followed with 64 minutes of action in Columbus State's 2-2 road draw at Flagler on Saturday.

The senior finished the week with three goals, six points, four shots, and three shots on goal across 114 minutes of action as Columbus State went 1-0-1.
