Columbus - Three different Lady Cougars scored their first goal of the season as they lifted the 10th ranked Columbus State women's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Georgia Southwestern in a Peach Belt Conference match Wednesday evening at the Walden Soccer Complex in Columbus, GA.

CSU improves to 10-1 on the year and 4-1 in PBC action while GSW falls to 2-7-1 this season and remain winless (0-5) in league play.  The Lady Cougars also remained perfect versus Georgia Southwestern improving to 7-0 all-time outscoring them by a 43-2 margin.

The shutout was the fifth straight for the Lady Cougars as they upped their consecutive scoreless mark to 521 minutes, just 28 minutes shy of the longest such streak in the PBC this season.

Just like they did in their last contest, Columbus State came out firing as they posted five shots in the opening 15 minutes of play before cracking through in the 21st minute on a short corner.  Stephanie Lowery played the ball into Kayla Brown who took a couple touches and hit a bending shot to the far right side of the net for her first goal of the season.  It was also Lowery's first assist of the year.

Eleven minutes later in the 32nd minute, Ashley Miller beat a couple of GSW defenders in the box and also hit a bending shot, this one hitting off the post and rolling across the goal line before crossing in, putting CSU in front 2-0.

Shea Wilby capped off the scoring just over four minutes later as she received a ball from Kelsey Pelletier and ripped a shot which hit a defender as it went in for the final score of the game.

Columbus State ended the contest with 35 shots, tied for the fourth most in a single-game in program history.  The school record is 42 shots which was accomplished twice, first on September 6, 2006 and October 24, 2007, both times against the Lady Hurricanes.

Mary Mancin picked up the win playing the first half of the contest not facing a shot while Meosha Hatcher played the final 45 minutes stopping the lone shot she saw.  Mancin also extended her scoreless streak to 397 consecutive minutes.

Amber Bahri did everything she could to keep GSW in the contest picking up 11 saves in the full 90 minutes of action.
