TEMPE, Ariz. – The Columbus State University tennis programs added to their list of postseason recognition, drawing regional awards from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
 
Beatriz Lopez was named the Southeast Region ITA Rookie of the Year, while Giorgia Vitale earned the region's ITA Player to Watch honor.
 
Head coach Evan Isaacs was recognized as the Wilson/ITA Southeast Region Coach of the Year for both the men and women.
 
Lopez turned in a stellar freshman campaign, posting an 18-2 singles record and 18-6 mark in doubles action. She was named to the All-Peach Belt Conference team for both singles and doubles, while becoming just the fourth Lady Cougar to take home the PBC Freshman of the Year honor.
 
Vitale played most of her season at the top singles spot, going 12-6 overall and racking up a 25-3 record in doubles play. Like Lopez, Vitale drew All-Conference recognition in singles and doubles.
 
Isaacs adds the regional Coach of the Year honors to his earlier sweep of the PBC Coach of the Year awards.
 
The Lady Cougars were 25-3 this season, capturing their first outright PBC regular season title and first PBC Tournament championship. CSU made its sixth straight appearance in the NCAA Round of 16 and went to the national quarterfinals for the fifth time.
 
The Cougar men posted a 25-4 record, the most wins during Isaacs' 16-year tenure. The Cougars shared the PBC regular season crown for the second time and captured their second PBC Tournament title. Columbus State made it all the way to the national semifinals for just the third time in program history.
