BLUFFTON, S.C. – The Columbus State University women's golf team sits tied for 10
th place after the first 18 holes at UNC Pembroke's Battle at Old South. The tournament is being played on the Old South Golf Links.
Columbus State carded an opening round score of 314 on Saturday.
Florida Southern leads the tournament with a score of 293. Lee (297) sits second with Catawba (299) only two strokes behind. North Georgia (301) follows up in fourth with Saint Leo (302) only one stroke back in fifth.
Anna Meleshkina shot the low score of the opening round for the Lady Cougars with a round of 1-under par 71. Meleshkina is the first Lady Cougar to card a round under par since Courtney Lowery did so in September of 2014. She is tied for second overall, just one stroke off the lead.
Victoria Libaak posted a score of 79 and is tied for 51
st, while
Jordan Booker is two shots behind tied for 59
th.
Hannah Holland posted a score of 83 and is tied for 71
st.
Kayla Poff carded the drop score on the day with a round of 91.
The tournament will conclude with the final 18 holes on Tuesday.
