COLUMBUS — The Columbus State University Women's Golf team sits in third place following the opening day of competition at the Columbus State University Lady Cougar Classic, held Monday at Green Island Country Club. The Lady Cougars posted a team score of 40-over par (305-295—600) through two rounds on their home course.
Columbus State was led by
Mia Arroyo, who turned in one of the top individual performances of the day. Arroyo finished tied for second overall at 4-over par, carding rounds of 5-over and 1-under to lead the Cougars and position herself firmly in contention heading into the final round.
Peyton Maraman also delivered a strong showing for Columbus State, finishing tied for eighth at 8-over par (5-over, 3-over), while
Nathariya Phimsoutham added a tied-for-22nd finish at 13-over par (6-over, 7-over).
Sydney Himes rounded out the Cougars' counting scores, finishing tied for 29th at 15-over par (7-over, 8-over).
Competing as an individual, Laura Delaubert posted a solid performance, finishing tied for 10th at 9-over par (7-over, 2-over), while Samantha Dewendt (T-32, +16) and
Andrea Peraza (T-41, +21) also represented Columbus State in the field.
As a team, the Lady Cougars improved by six strokes from the opening round to the second round, highlighting consistency and momentum entering the final day of competition.
The Columbus State University Lady Cougar Classic concludes Tuesday with the final round at Green Island Country Club, as the Lady Cougars look to climb the leaderboard on their home course.
