PENSACOLA, Fl. - The sixth-ranked Columbus State University women's tennis team took down eighth-ranked West Florida 4-1 on Tuesday. The match took place in Pensacola, Florida.Â

Luise Sachs and
Noa Davico served their way past their opponent 6-3 while
Candice Paya and
Natalia Kattah Paz grabbed a 6-2 victory. The two wins secured the doubles point for CSU as the match at first doubles with
Beatriz Lopez and
Clara Audap went unfinished at 4-3.Â
In singles play it was 22
nd-ranked Lopez who dominated her way to a straight set 6-1, 6-0 victory to earn another point for the Lady Cougars. That's now three straight set wins in a row at singles for the junior.Â
Right next to Lopez at third singles was 46
th-ranked Paya who locked down another point for CSU as she pushed herself to a 6-4, 6-4 straight set win. 18
th-ranked Davico ended up getting one of the other points that Columbus State needed in a third straight set win taking down her counterpart 6-0, 6-3.Â
With the teams playing to clinch, that was all Columbus State needed to take the match.Â
The lone loss in singles was 10
th-ranked Sachs who fell 4-6, 4-6 in a tightly contested match.Â
The other two singles at first and sixth went unfinished with the match already in hand. 25

Marleen Tilgner was in a 6-6 tie in the opening set while Paz was trailing 3-6, 2-5.Â
This is the third win in a row for the Lady Cougars who will come back home to battle conference opponent Flagler on Saturday, March 23. The match is scheduled to being at 11:00 a.m. at the Walden Tennis Center.Â
