AUGUSTA, Ga. - After finishing the season with the fourth-most saves at the NCAA Division II level in 2019, Devin Dudal was named to the Peach Belt Conference Preseason All-Conference baseball team on Wednesday.  

The junior appeared in 30 of CSU's 51 games last season posting a 2.92 ERA in 52.1 innings of work. He picked up three wins while leading the PBC with 13 saves. The save total is the second-most in a single-season by a Cougar closer and the eighth-most in PBC history. 

Dudal averaged 10.9 strikeouts per nine innings racking up 63 on the year while opponents hit just .206 against the right-hander.

In 2019, Dudal was honored by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association by being named to the All-Southeast Region teams. He was also a first-team All-PBC selection.

Opening day is nearly a week away for Columbus State as the Cougars begin the season with three games in Tampa, Fla. at Steinbrenner Field. CSU will play Saint Leo (Jan. 31), Catawba (Feb. 1), and Barton (Feb. 2) in the opening weekend classic.
