COLUMBUS - In their lastest action of the fall season, Beatriz Lopez captured the women's singles title at the Georgia Open on Sunday, Oct. 25 at the McCluskey Tennis Center in LaGrange, Ga.
Also over the weekend, former Cougar All-American KP Pannu won the men's championship.
Lopez cruised her way through the 16-person tournament winning all four matches in impressive style en route to the title. She defeated Medina Walsh 8-1 in the championship to earn her second title of the fall season. Sara Ramirez Goncalves also competed in the tournament advancing to the semifinals with an 8-1 victory.
On the men's side, Alvaro Regalado worked his way to the semifinals before matching up with his former teammate, Pannu. In the All-Cougar showdown, Pannu won a tightly contested match 8-6.
It has been another banner fall campaign for the Cougars and Lady Cougars as they have brought home four of a possible six individual championships.
