Cougars, Jags Adjust Schedule

CSU will now play a doubleheader against Augusta on Saturday, March 7.

COLUMBUS -  With persistent rain falling throughout the state of Georgia, the schedule for the upcoming Columbus State University baseball series against Augusta has been altered.

Instead of a three-day, three-game series, the Cougars and Jaguars will play a doubleheader on Saturday, March 7 beginning at 11 a.m. at Jaguar Field in Augusta, Ga. Sunday's game will still begin at the original 1 p.m. start time.

Columbus State (14-3, 8-1 PBC) will enter the weekend on a seven-game winning streak after two straight Peach Belt Conference series sweeps. The Cougars jumped nine spots to 14th in the latest Collegiate Baseball Newspaper poll while also receiving votes in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America poll.

Augusta is 4-12 on the season with a 2-7 mark in PBC play. Sophomore Ben Markiewicz is hitting .377 so far with four doubles and eight RBIs.
