COLUMBUS - The Columbus State University baseball program announced schedule changes to its upcoming weekend series with Young Harris College as rain is expected in the Chattahoochee Valley on Saturday.
The 24th-ranked Cougars will now host the Mountain Lions on Sunday and Monday, instead of the originally scheduled Saturday start. The two teams will play a doubleheader on Sunday beginning at 2 p.m., with the series finale taking place on Monday at 2 p.m. Senior Day activities will take place on Sunday as planned.
It's a crucial series within the Peach Belt Conference as the Cougars (21-10, 16-10 PBC) are just percentage points ahead of Young Harris (18-14, 16-11) for third in the standings. The top four teams in the conference advance to the PBC Tournament beginning on Friday, May 7.
Columbus State will be busy over the final week of the regular season. After the series with YHC, CSU will be on the road for midweek games at Auburn University Montgomery on Tuesday and Spring Hill College on Wednesday, before closing out the season with a three-game set at UNC Pembroke.Â
