COLUMBUS - The No. 8 Columbus State University baseball returns home to host Quincy University in a four-game non-conference series beginning on Friday, Feb. 25 at Burger King Stadium in Columbus.

• Columbus State is playing its first four-game series since hosting Saginaw Valley University during the 2016 season. The Cougars swept the four-game set
• CSU has won 12 straight series at home dating back to the 2019 season. The Cougars are 130-37 in Columbus since 2015.Â
• CSU is averaging 11.2 runs per game and has scored the second-most runs in the nation
• Robert Brooks enters the weekend in sixth place on the all-time PBC home run list. He needs one more to tie Aaron Fera of Georgia College (1996-99) for fifth. He is the active career leader at the DII level and only two behind Ethan Baucom of UNC-Wilmington from being the leader among all three NCAA divisions
• Jamie Boatright (8 IP), Zack Brockman (7.2 IP) and Austin Elliot (7.1 IP) all have 0.00 ERAs and have tossed at least seven innings for CSU
• Columbus State remained in the top-10 in the latest NCWBA poll. The Cougars were sixth last week before dropping two spots in the latest poll on Wednesday
QUINCY NOTES
• Quincy is a Midwest Region powerhouse, reaching the NCAA Midwest Regional for six straight seasons. QU is located in Quincy, Ill. and is a part of the Great Lakes Valley Conference
• The Hawks opened the season this past weekend, going 2-1 in the MIAA/GLVC Crossover in Joplin, Mo. QU's pitching staff racked up 38 strikeouts over the weekend, including 21 in a 6-5 win over Missouri-Western on Feb. 20
• Quincy was 29-15 in 2021 and had one of the best offenses in the nation. The Hawks averaged 8.5 runs per game, the 20th best mark at the NCAA DII level.
• Dayson Croes and Lance Logsdon are back in the QU lineup after great 2021s. Croes hit a team-high .436 with 54 RBIs, while Logsdon hit 12 homers and knocked in a team-best 55 runs.
• Griffin Kiern struck out 11 in his first start of the year in just five innings of work to lead the Hawks' staff. Spencer Walker went 5-2 last season with a 3.90 ERA in 60 innings

• This will be the first meeting between the two schools
