COLUMBUS - The seventh-ranked Columbus State University baseball team plays its final game in March on Wednesday, hosting Point University at 5 p.m. at Burger King Stadium at Ragsdale Field.

• The Cougars (25-5) will look to begin a new winning streak on Wednesday after seeing their seven-game streak snapped on Sunday with a 6-5 loss to Young Harris College. CSU took 2-of-3 in the crucial Peach Belt Conference series despite the loss
• Columbus State dropped a spot to third in the latest Collegiate Baseball Newspaper poll, released Tuesday afternoon. The new edition of the NCWBA national is unveiled on Wednesday
• CSU has won 24 straight midweek games dating back to Feb. 2017
• Cougar starting pitcher Devin Dudal was named the PBC Pitcher of the Week on Monday. Dudal tossed a seven-inning complete game on Friday against YHC, allowing just one run in the two-hitter. It's the second time Dudal has won the award, as the righty also took home the honor on March 18, 2019
• Colby Brabston is on a six-game hitting streak and has reached base in 14 straight games. The Columbus native is hitting nearly .400 over the hitting streak with three homers, 11 RBIs and has scored 12 times
• CSU has scored 5 or more runs in 18 of its last 20 games
• The Cougars lead DII in total runs (327), rank second in homers (54), sixth in runs/game (10.9) and 25th in average (.325)
• Individually, Robert Brooks is fifth in RBIs (46) and Isaac Bouton is eighth in runs (39)

• Point, members of the NAIA and the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC), enter Wednesday night with a 16-13 record after sweeping Kentucky Christian last weekend
• Jackson Bush (.372, 6 2Bs, 4 HRs), Francisco Garica (.365, 8 2Bs, 3 HRs, 28 RBIs) and Kevin Howard (.351, 9 2Bs, 2 3Bs, 19 RBIs) are all hitting above .350 for the Skyhawks
• Jakobe Smith has a team-high seven homers, including hitting one on Saturday in a 13-8 PU win over Kentucky Christian. He was 1-for-3 with a RBI double against the Cougars earlier this season
