COLUMBUS - The fifth-ranked Columbus State University baseball team is back at home this holiday weekend, hosting a Peach Belt Conference series against Lander University at Burger King Stadium at Ragsdale Field.

CSU NOTES
• The Cougars (31-6, 15-3 PBC) are entering the home stretch of the season. CSU has 11 games left in the regular season, including seven at Burger King Stadium
• Columbus State has a four-game lead in the PBC standings headed into the weekend. Flagler, the University of North Georgia and Young Harris College are all tied for the second spot
• The Cougars are second in the nation in the latest Collegiate Baseball Newspaper poll while dropping to ninth in the NCWBA poll
• CSU has won nine straight home series dating back to the 2019 season
• The Cougars are inside the top-10 in a handful of statistical categories at the DII level. CSU is second in scoring (10.7 runs/g) and total runs (395), fourth in home runs (73) and fifth in walks (215)
• At the individual level, Devin Dudal is tied for second in DII in wins (8), while Robert Brooks (57) and Steven Minter (49) are sixth and 14th in the country in RBIs
• Brooks carries an 11-game hitting streak into the series, while Win Johns, Minter and Derek Wylie have all hit safely in five straightÂ
• During Wylie's five-game hitting streak, the sophomore is hitting .454 (10-for-22) with four homers and nine RBIs. He is now second on the team and tied for third in the PBC with 11 home runs
• Dudal has won six straight decisions, with a 3.03 ERA during the stretch. He has struck out 47 hitters in 35.2 innings and is currently second in the PBC with 70 strikeouts this season
• Columbus State has homered in 14 straight games
• The Cougars have scored 10 or more runs in 21 of their 37 games this season
• CSU is 15-3 at Burger King Stadium in 2022 and is 141-39 at home since 2015
LANDER NOTES
• Lander (19-20, 9-9) comes to Columbus on a three-game losing streak after falling 8-5 in 12 innings on Tuesday at Francis Marion University
• LU dropped two of three at home to Flagler last weekend in a key PBC series. The Bearcats are tied with USC Aiken for seventh in the PBC standings but are in a good position to secure a berth into the PBC Tournament, which begins on May 6
• Ethan Wilder is one of the top hitters in the Bearcat lineup, hitting .310 with 17 extra-base hits this season. Vincent DeRubeis and Connor Droze both lead the team with seven homers, while both players back at least 30 RBIs
• Eight different pitchers have made starts for Lander this season. Bennett Nance has made a team-high nine starts but tossed just 1.2 innings last Friday against FC\
• Zach Pellegrino has been busy this year for the Bearcats, ranking second in DII with 24 appearances out of the bullpen. He is 2-2 with a 6.28 ERA in 28.2 inningsÂ
• Lander ranks near the bottom of the PBC in ERA (6.35) and WHIP (1.65) as a staff
