KANSAS CITY, Mo. - After a 3-1 start to the season, the Columbus State University women's soccer team jumped to the fifth position in the latest United Soccer Coaches poll on Tuesday.
Three of the top five teams remain the same from the preseason poll, but there was a change in the top spot following an early season loss by Grand Valley State University. The College of Saint Rose and Dallas Baptist University share the number one ranking with GVSU, Embry-Riddle University and the Cougars rounding out the top five.
CSU has been dominant in 2022, outscoring their opponents 12-1 in four matches. The lone blemish on the schedule came last weekend at fourth-ranked Embry-Riddle when the Eagles snuck out a 1-0 win.
Columbus State returns to the pitch this weekend as Peach Belt Conference play begins. CSU hosts Flagler College at noon on Saturday at the Walden Soccer Complex
with tickets still available. Fans please note that kickoff has been pushed up an hour from the originally scheduled time.
