COLUMBUS - The Columbus State University baseball team is ready for their first midweek game of the season on Wednesday, Feb. 8, when they welcome the Golden Rams to Ragsdale Field.
The Cougars are coming of a series win against West Alabama and have won their last two games. Albany State is looking to kickoff their season with a bang and is looking to defeat CSU for the first time since 2020.
For the Cougars,
Win Johns and
Matthew McDade will look to continue their scorching hot starts to the season as both players are batting .500 with 12 at bats. CSU is leading the Peach Belt in team batting average with .330 and is second with homeruns as a team with four.
For the Golden Rams, they are coming off a 32-16 record and this is their first game of the season and they have their eyes set on knocking out a heavy weight. Albany State is led by their two SIAC preseason selections utility player Nathan Lloyd and starting pitcher Jeremiah Reddell.
First pitch is set for 4:00 p.m. at Ragsdale Field on Wednesday, Feb. 8.
