Box Score ALBANY, Ga. - The Columbus State University baseball team run-ruled Albany State on Tuesday, March 14 by a score of 15-4. Columbus State wins their second game in a row and improves to 18-4 on the season and 10-2 in the PBC. Albany State falls to 13-4 and 11-1 in the SIAC.
Derek Wylie got the scoring started for Columbus State in the second inning when he blasted his 10th homerun of the season. Wylie would hit his 11th homerun in his junior campaign in the fifth inning. The junior right fielder leads the Peach Belt Conference in homeruns and now is in the lead by five long balls. This is Wylie's second game in a row with two homeruns.
Steven Minter and
Colby Brabston both had two-rbi hits in the third inning as both finished with three rbi's in the game. The Cougars scored nine runs in the fourth innings as the Cougars coaxed five walks in the inning.
Zack Brockman had his second start of the season and he pitched 5.1 strong innings of two run ball. Brockman also struck out three batters and he now has two strikeouts in his last five appearances.
