Box Score AIKEN, S.C. - The Columbus State baseball team cruised past USC Aiken on Sunday, beating the Pacers 12-1 in the third game of the Peach Belt Conference series. With the win, CSU is now 19-12 (7-5 PBC).
The Cougars took a 2-0 lead in the first inning over the Pacers. With bases loaded,
Colby Brabston reached on a fielder's choice, scoring
Cody Ferguson from third.
Win Johns then collected a RBI after reaching first on a error by the shortstop, allowing
Andrew Rubin to score.
In the fourth inning, Ferguson ripped a RBI single to center field to score
Isaiah Hernandez from second base. In the fifth inning, CSU tallied on three more runs off of three hits and one error to make it 6-0. With runners on first and third, Hernandez hit a single to center, plating Brabston from third.
Jackson Chizek then collected two RBI after a bases loaded single through the left side of the field.
USC Aiken scored their only run in the bottom of the fifth thanks to a RBI single.Â
The Cougars had a huge seventh inning, scoring six runs off of two hits. With bases loaded, USC Aiken walked six CSU batters to give the Cougars three more runs.
Derek Wylie then hit into a double-play, scoring Chizek from third.
Trace Goforth received the win on the mound after 6.0 innings and striking out 10 batters.

The Cougars will be back at Ragsdale Field on Tuesday to host AUM at 6 p.m.
