CALERA, Ala. – The Columbus State University women's golf team opened the 2024-25 season in Calera, Ala. at the Full Moon BBQ Invitational hosted by Montevallo (Ala.).
The Lady Cougars finished in fifth place with a team score of 624 (+56) at the par-71 Timberline Golf Club in Calera.
Lexis Fickel led the way for CSU, carding a two-round score of 10-over to finish tied for 15th place individually.
First Round
Columbus State completed the first round with a team total of 308 (+24) for fifth place.
Samantha Dewendt Morales led the charge with a 75 (+4) and was followed by Fickel with a score of 76 (+5).
Sadie Norman finished with a 77 (+6) followed by Maegen Pungsuwan carding an opening 80 (+9).
Laura DeLaubert finished round one with an 86 (+15) to round out CSU.
Second Round
Fickel led the way on Tuesday with a second round 76 (+5) to finish tied for 15th with a two-round score of 152 (+10). Dewendt Morales followed behind with a second round 78 (+7) for a total score of 153 (+11) and a 17th-place finish.
Norman and Pungsuwan both scored an 81 (+10) with Norman finishing tied for 23rd with a total score of 158 (+16) and Pungsuwan finishing tied for 29th with a 19-over 161 total score. Lastly, DeLaubert wrapped up the second round with an 87 (+16) for a T37th finish and a total score of 173 (+31).
