SALISBURY, N.C. – Columbus State University baseball student-athlete Warrick Wilmot was named National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Southeast Region Player of the Week for week 11, the national organization announced on Tuesday afternoon.

The junior infielder/designated hitter from Panama City, Florida earned his first PBC weekly honor on Monday for his impressive performances for the week of Apr. 7-13

Wilmot batted for .500 on the week across a total of five games, gathering three doubles and two homers while driving in nine RBIs with a .950 slugging percentage. He was the designated hitter in the series against Georgia Southwestern and went 8-fo-13 against the Hurricanes. He opened with a homer, a double, and four runs driven in before adding three hits in game two and three RBIs in game three.

Tuesday's honor is the third this season for a player from the Peach Belt Conference and the first this season for CSU. With the honor, Wilmot will advance to the NCBWA National Player of the Week consideration, which will release on Thursday.
