Box Score MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The Columbus State Cougars won game one against Peach Belt Conference rival Georgia College & State University on Thursday. With the win, the Cougars are 23-19 (13-9 PBC) and the Bobcats are 26-18 (17-5 PBC).

Trace Goforth pitched seven scoreless innings in the Cougars 6-1 win over the Bobcats to open the Peach Belt Conference series. The senior improves to 3-2 on the mound after striking out ten batters and allowing three hits.

Columbus State broke the game open in the first inning, scoring one run off three hits.
Cayden Evans singled through the right side,
Cole Eison singled to center field, and
Cody Ferguson singled to left field to score Evans.

Warrick Wilmot extended the Cougars' lead to 4-0 in the sixth with a two-run home run to right field, after Ferguson singled to left field to start the inning.

CSU made it 6-0 in the eighth after
Bryce Knox hit a single to center and stole second base.
Michael Cruz hit a single up the middle that scored Knox.
Georgia College scored their only run off an RBI single to left in the bottom of the ninth.
