AUGUSTA, Ga. – Columbus State women's tennis student-athlete
Mariana Ramirez secured her third career Peach Belt Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week honor for her performance this past week, leading CSU to three wins.
The graduate student from Colombia went 3-0 in singles play and 2-1 in doubles as the Lady Cougars went 3-0 with wins over Valdosta State, Georgia Southwestern, and #3 Flagler.
In the 4-3 upset win at Flagler, she defeated #44-ranked Anastasia Nikolova 6-2, 6-4 at #2 singles. She also added wins in straight sets over VSU's Alyssa Novoa and GSW's Moninque Gundrum.
Ramirez also partnered with
Nikoline Gullacksen to beat Flagler's fifth-ranked duo of Dana Heimen and Nikolova 6-3 in the first line of doubles. She is ranked 42nd in singles and 17th in doubles by the ITA.
This honor is the third of her career and second this season.
