GILBERT, AZ - On Tuesday, the 2026 ITA Division II Regional Awards were announced, honoring several Columbus State players and head coach
Evan Isaacs.
Isaacs was named the 2026 Men's and Women's Southeast Region Coach of the Year after guiding both programs to the Peach Belt Regular Season and Tournament titles. Both programs earned the No. 2 overall seed in the Southeast Regional, where the women's squad advanced into the NCAA Championships later this month. Each team reached the 20-win plateau during the 2026 season, and both sides were perfect in conference play. Additionally, Jeri Stewart was honored alongside Isaacs as the Southeast Region Men's Assistant Coach of the Year.
For the men, senior
Thomas Cardona was named the Southeast Senior Player of the Year. The Medellin, Colombia native finished the season with a 17-2 overall singles record and 11 wins over nationally-ranked opponents. In doubles play, Cardona and his teammate,
Samer Al Tori, had a 16-5 record. Cardona was also named the PBC Player of the Year, First Team All-Conference, and the PBC Tournament Singles Most Valuable Player.
Freshman
Hugo Didier was recognized as the Southeast Rookie of the Year. The Peach Belt's 2026 Freshman of the Year, Didier was 14-6 overall in the No. 2 singles position and tallied wins over two nationally-ranked opponents and is currently No. 37 in the ITA.
For the women, senior
Nikoline Gullacksen earned Southeast Senior Player of the Year honors. The Helsingor, Denmark native is currently 16-2 overall in singles play with six wins over nationally-ranked opponents in the No. 1 position. In doubles play, Gullacksen is 13-7 overall, having played with
Annie Adams,
Monika Temkova, and
Claudia De Lucas. Gullacksen was the PBC Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference.
