NCAA Quarterfinalist Cougars Announce 2026 Men's Golf Fall Schedule

COLUMBUS, Ga. – Coming off one of the most memorable postseason runs in program history, the Columbus State University men's golf team has announced its 2026 fall schedule.

The Cougars are set to compete in four fall tournaments under Director of Golf Lee McCoy, who enters his fourth season leading the men's golf program after guiding Columbus State to the NCAA Division II National Championship match play quarterfinals in 2025-26.

Columbus State will open the fall at the Mizuno Intercollegiate on September 21-22 in Gainesville, Georgia. The Cougars will then travel to Dade City, Florida, for the NCAA South/Southeast Regional Preview on September 28-29 at Lake Jovita.

The fall slate continues October 5-6 at the Hurricane Invitational in Albany, Georgia, where CSU finished second last season. The Cougars will close the fall schedule October 26-27 at the Fripp Island to Bermuda Invitational in Fripp Island, S.C.

"I couldn't be more excited to get going in the fall," said McCoy. "We have almost all of last year's starting lineup coming back, as well as an extremely talented group of players coming to join us. CSU Golf is primed and ready to contend for championships in the coming years."

McCoy, a former professional golfer, played in 13 PGA Tour events and spent two full seasons on the Korn Ferry Tour. He also won on PGA Tour Canada in 2016 and captured medalist honors at the 2017 Q-School Finals before taking over the Columbus State program in 2023.

The Cougars enter the 2026-27 season after a championship-caliber campaign that included a runner-up finish at the Peach Belt Conference Championship, a sixth-place finish at the NCAA South/Southeast Regional and a berth in the NCAA Division II National Championship. Columbus State advanced to match play and finished among the nation's final eight teams in NCAA Division II men's golf, marking the program's first NCAA quarterfinal appearance in the match play era.

Columbus State also earned several individual honors last season. McCoy was named Peach Belt Conference Coach of the Year, Bernard Meyer collected First Team All-Peach Belt Conference honors, and William Partner and Ian Pienaar earned PING All-America recognition. Partner returns as a sophomore after finishing the season ranked No. 8 nationally in Division II and No. 4 in the region.

Partner leads a returning group that includes Jackson Cavanaugh, Will Coffman, William Greene, Frederick Chappell, Bryant Vail and Russell Makepeace. Coffman finished last season ranked No. 38 in the region, while Greene closed the year ranked No. 61.

The Cougars will also welcome Luke Friend, Jay Wilson, Blake Goodroe, and Jayden Owensby to the roster for the 2026-27 season.
