SURPRISE, Ariz. – Columbus State University men's tennis player
KP Pannu picked up a victory in the opening round of the ITA National Fall Championships on Wednesday.

The tournament is being played at the Surprise Tennis & Racquet Club, the site of the Cougars' national championship in May.

Pannu defeated Antonio Cembellin of Indiana University 6-3, 6-3 in the round of 64. The senior will go up against Will Little of Baylor in Thursday's second round.

Cembellin is a senior that played the majority of the 2018 season at the second singles position for the Hoosiers, amassing a 19-15 overall record. He entered the fall ranked No. 66 in the ITA Division I rankings.

Pannu's match on Thursday is scheduled for 11 a.m. Eastern.
