LAKE NONA, Fla. - In the opening round of the 2020 Oracle ITA National Fall Championship, Columbus State University men's tennis All-American Alvaro Regalado recorded an impressive victory on Thursday to advance into the Round of 16 at the prestigious national event. The ITA National Fall Championship is taking place at the USTA National Campus in Lake Nona, Fla.
Taking on Javier Gonzalez of Division I University of Texas at San Antonio, Regalado ran into no problems taking the match in two sets. The junior didn't allow Gonzalez to break a serve the entire morning recording the 6-2, 6-0 win. Regalado notched five aces along the way.
Regalado will have a tall task in the Round of 16 squaring off against top-seeded James Trotter of The Ohio State University at 9 a.m. Trotter was a second-team All-Big Ten selection in 2020 finishing the year ranked inside the ITA Division I singles poll.
