INNISBROOK, Fla. - The No. 8 Columbus State University men's golf team finished in 15th place at the Copperhead Championship hosted at the Innisbrook Resort.
The Cougars a 23-over 303 to conclude the event with a three-round score of 51-over 903.Â
Lander University (+16, 868) jumped over No. 24 Saint Leo University (+22, 874) to win the team title, while Luke Harries (-3, 210) of No. 4 Lincoln Memorial University fired a 2-under on Tuesday to grab the medalist honors.Â
Arran Kanth led Columbus State in round three with a 2-over 73. The sophomore climbed 13 spots on the leaderboard to finish in a 50th-place tie at 14-over 227.
A pair of Cougars finished tied for 33rd as
Jordan Doull and
Martin Gruendemann ended the tournament with 10-over 223s. Doull shot a 5-over 76 in the final round, while Gruendemann posted a 6-over.Â
Benjamin Womack was the final team scorer for the Cougars on Tuesday. Womack had his best round of the event with a 6-over 77 to finish tied for 81st. Overall, the senior shot a 22-over 235.
Luke Barnes wrapped up play tied for 83rd after turning in a 9-over 80. Barnes shot a 243-over 236 over the three-round tournament.
Columbus State will play its final fall tournament on its schedule next Monday at the Southern Tide Invitational in Milton, Ga.
