• Columbus State is coming off a 13-7 year a season ago with CSU failing to capture either the Peach Belt Conference regular-season or tournament title for the first time since 2012.
• This season, CSU will play only 10 regular season matches, all inside the PBC, with exhibition matches against the University of Alabama (Feb. 19), the University of South Alabama (March 27) and Mississippi State University (April 1) within the schedule.
• The Lady Cougars were already supposed to have one match under their belts before Sunday but rain last week forced CSU's match against USC Aiken to be postponed. That match will now be played on Thursday, Feb. 25 at 6 p.m.
• In the preseason PBC coaches poll, the Lady Cougars were selected second behind defending champions Flagler College.
• Columbus natives Madeline Goodfellow and Kimmy May were both tabbed to the preseason All-PBC team. A three-year starter, Goodfellow is one of the best defenders in the nation with three all-conference accolades on her resume. May is the team's returning leader in goals (8), assists (6) and points (20) and was a 2019 first All-PBC selection.
• Head coach Jay Entlich is in 17th year at Columbus State leading the Lady Cougars to 12 PBC regular-season titles, eight PBC Tournament championships and six NCAA Regionals. The all-time winningest coach in PBC history with a 272-63-24 record, Entlich is six wins away from 300 in his collegiate career.
• The Lady Cougars have won eight straight regular season matches dating back to last season.
