VALDOSTA, Ga. - The No. 9 Columbus State University men's golf team finished in 11th place at the 2021 First Federal Southeastern Collegiate, led by a top-10 showing by third-year sophomore
Ronan Kleu. Valdosta State University hosted the two-day tournament at the Kinderlou Forest Golf Club.
Kleu grabbed seventh place after shooting a 3-under 213 over the 54-hole event. It's the third top-10 finish in three events for the Cougar. On Tuesday, the Sollikerberg, Switzerland native was 2-over par to post one of CSU's best rounds of the day.
As a team, Columbus State shot a 12-over 300 on Tuesday to finish with a 27-over 891 three-round score. Georgia Southwestern State University won the event after firing a 5-under 859.Â
Arran Kanth joined his teammate at 2-over par in round three. Kanth had birdies on the 12th and 15th, but a double-bogey late in the round prevented him from posting an even-par score. The second-year freshman still climbed the leaderboard to 35th with a 6-over 222.
Jordan Doull completed his week with a 3-over 75 on Tuesday. Doull had two birdies before the turn to help him to a 21st-place tie. For the week, the fourth-year junior shot a 3-over 219.Â
The final team scorer in round three was
Adam Aycock. Aycock shot a 5-over 77 to turn in a 21-over 237 to finish in 72nd.Â
Andy Callahan played his second round of the tournament on Tuesday and posted an 8-over 80 for the Cougar drop score.Â
Columbus State will have a week off before hosting the 2021 Cougar Invitational at the Green Island Country Club in Columbus.Â
