PENSACOLA, Fla. — The No. 10-ranked Columbus State University men's golf team turned in a steady three-round performance to finish sixth overall at the Argonaut Invitational, hosted by the University of West Florida at Pensacola Country Club.
The Cougars posted a three-round total of 3-under par, highlighted by consistent play across all two days with rounds of 2-over, 4-under, and 1-under to secure a top-six finish in a competitive field featuring multiple nationally ranked programs.
Columbus State was led by
William Partner, who delivered the team's top individual performance with a tie for ninth place at 6-under par. Partner showed steady improvement throughout the tournament, carding rounds of 1-over, 2-under, and an impressive 5-under in the final round to climb the leaderboard.
Bryant Vail added a solid showing for the Cougars, finishing tied for 23rd at even par. Vail recorded rounds of even par, 1-under, and 1-over to provide Columbus State with a key counting score across all three rounds.
Ian Pienaar followed closely behind, finishing 29th overall at 1-over par. Pienaar rebounded after an opening round of 3-over with back-to-back rounds under par (1-under, 1-under) to move up the standings.
Bernard Meyer posted a 38th-place finish at 4-over par, highlighted by an opening-round 2-under performance, while
William Greene rounded out the Cougars' lineup with a tie for 53rd finish at 7-over par.
Columbus State returns to action April 19-21 at the Peach Belt Conference Championship, held at World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Florida.
