AUGUSTA, Ga. — Columbus State University sophomore
Ian Pienaar has been named the Peach Belt Conference Men's Golfer of the Week following his standout performance at the First Federal Southeastern Collegiate, held at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club in Valdosta, Ga., and hosted by Valdosta State University.
Pienaar played a key role in leading the No. 11-ranked Columbus State men's golf team to a second-place finish in the tournament, delivering one of the strongest individual performances of the week. The sophomore finished fourth overall at 11-under par, posting rounds of 3-under, 9-under, and 1-over to secure his top-five finish in a competitive field.
His second-round performance highlighted the event, as Pienaar fired a 9-under-par round, one of the lowest rounds of the tournament and a major factor in Columbus State's push up the leaderboard.
Pienaar also dominated the field on par-5 scoring, leading all competitors with a 4.25 scoring average on par-5 holes and finishing 9-under par on those opportunities during the tournament.
At the event, Pienaar posted a 71.21 scoring average, helping the Cougars post an 18-under-par team score against a strong national field that included several ranked programs.
The Peach Belt Conference Golfer of the Week honor recognizes the top individual performance in the conference each week.
