VALDOSTA, Ga. — The No. 11-ranked Columbus State University Men's Golf team delivered a strong performance this week, finishing second overall at the First Federal Southeastern Collegiate hosted by Valdosta State University at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club.
The Cougars posted a three-round team score of 18-under par, finishing just behind tournament champion Lincoln Memorial. Columbus State recorded rounds of 3-under, 18-under, and 3-over during the event, placing four players inside the top 15 of the individual standings.
Ian Pienaar led the way for Columbus State, finishing fourth overall at 11-under par. Pienaar opened the tournament with a 3-under round, followed with an impressive 9-under performance in the second round, and closed with a 1-over final round to secure the top finish for the Cougars.
Bernard Meyer also produced a strong showing, tying for sixth overall at 6-under par. Meyer posted rounds of 1-under, 3-under, and 2-under, providing steady scoring across all three rounds.
William Partner added another solid performance for Columbus State, finishing tied for 13th overall at 4-under par. Partner carded rounds of even-par, 6-under, and 2-over during the tournament.
Rounding out the Cougar lineup were
William Greene, who finished tied for 52nd at 5-over par, and
Bryant Vail, who placed tied for 57th at 7-over par.
The Cougars return to action March 16–17 at the Bobcat Invitational, hosted by Georgia College & State University at Cuscowilla on Lake Oconee in Eatonton, Georgia.
