Toccoa, GA. – The Columbus State Men's golf team placed fifth in the 15-team tournament. The Cougars shot a sub-300 score in the second and final round.
Team Results
After shooting a score of 300 in the first round, Columbus State fired a total score of 293 shots in the last round. CSU was able to fight off Lander University by one stroke to claim the fifth spot in the tournament. Anderson University stole the show after dominating the first day of the Invite with a score of 869 which was three shots better than second place Lincoln Memorial (872).
Individual Score
Martin Gruendemann played his best golf of the weekend shooting a score of 69 in the final round. Gruendemann had the third best score out of the whole field in the last round finishing behind two golfers with a score of 67. As impressive as he was, Arran Kanth finished a stroke better than Martin with a total of 215 strokes compared to 216 of Gruendemann. Bernard Meyer wasn't far behind with a total score of 221 and fired a 75 on the last round.
