COLUMBUS - The Columbus State University tennis teams will begin the 2022 season on Wednesday by traveling to face Anderson University at the Anderson Tennis Complex at 2 p.m.
COUGAR NOTES
• The No. 2 Cougars are coming off their third straight NCAA Championship match appearance in 2021. CSU finished the year with a 23-1 record and repeated as Peach Belt Conference regular-season and tournament champions for the fourth straight season.Â
• CSU has won 33 straight regular-season matches dating back to the 2019 season
• The Cougars have three players ranked in the top-50 nationally in singles and two in the top-10 (

LADY COUGAR NOTES
• The Lady Cougars begin the season tied with Azusa Pacific University for the seventh spot in the preseason top-25 ITA pollÂ
• CSU went 17-5 in 2021 and reached the NCAA Championship semifinals for the third straight year
• Columbus State begins the season as the Peach Belt Conference favorites. CSU has won four straight PBC regular-season championships

Mariana Ramirez begins the year ranked 25th in the nation for singles. Ramirez is also ranked 16th with
Valentina Abrile in doubles.Â

ANDERSON NOTES
• Anderson went 12-4 on the men's side in 2021 and reached the South Atlantic Conference Tournament championship match. AU was 5-1 at home last season
• For the women, Anderson was 9-5 and finished the season on a high note by winning its final two matches
• Anna Greer is the lone Trojan featured in the national rankings. Greer is ranked 49th as a singles player for the women
• The men's team was picked to finish fourth in the SAC this year. Adam Kush and Aaron Cabo were honorable mention selections to the preseason All-SAC team
