ALBANY, Ga. - The 22nd-ranked Columbus State University men's golf team grabbed its second straight top-five finish on Tuesday, finishing in fourth place at the Hurricane Invitational. The two-day, 54-hole event took place at the Doublegate Country Club in Albany, Ga.
The Cougars posted an 8-over 300 on Tuesday to secure the fourth-place finish. CSU shot a 12-over 872 overall in the event.
Leading Columbus State on the day was
Jordan Doull as the senior turned in a 1-over 73. Doull jumped five spots on the leaderboard to finish tied for 17th with a 2-over 218. The All-American had an eagle on the par-5 15 and birdies on the 4th and 10th.Â
Eric Wowor also finished with a 2-over 218 to seize a top-20 performance. The transfer dropped a bit from Monday, but still managed a 5-over 77.
Two more Cougars wound up tied as
Arran Kanth and
Preston Wagaman finished in 23rd. Kanth had the better round three, turning in a 3-over 75 to close out play for the week. Wagaman shot a 5-over 77 but was able to find four birdies. The duo had a three-round score of 3-over 219.
Martin Gruendemann closed the Hurricane Invitational on a high note with a 3-over 75. He made pars on holes 1 through 12. For the week, Gruendemann shot a 10-over 256 and finished tied for 58th.
