Box Score INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Columbus State University men's tennis team won the first round of the 2023 ITA Division II National Men's Team Indoor Championship Friday morning, beating Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University 4-0. The No. 2 Cougars now advance to the semifinals on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 11 a.m. EST, matching up against No. 3 Saint Leo University.

SINGLES

• Tommaso Schold beat F. Alonso 6-3, 6-1 playing in second singles
• In three sets, Pietro Martinetti defeated A. Diaz Rodrigo 5-7, 6-1, 6-1
• Playing in the sixth spot, Justin Welz took down Y. Nir 6-4, 6-2

DOUBLES

• Playing in first doubles, Martinetti and Javier Cueto Ramos beat the pair of A Guedy and M. Iftimie 6-2
• In third doubles, the team of Santiago Perez and Andrea Sandrone defeated L. Paschal and L. Schneider 6-0
• The duo of Schold and Felix Steen played a close match against Alonso and Diaz Rodrigo, losing 5-6
