Box Score LIVINGSTON, Ala. - The Columbus State University men's tennis team opened the 2023 season with a 6-1 victory over the University of West Alabama on Saturday, Feb. 4 at the Vaughan Tennis Complex.
SINGLES:
- In first singles, Santiago Perez defeated Marcel Hornung 6-4, 6-2.
- Javier Cueto Ramos played in the second spot and beat Nuutti Jokinen 6-2, 6-4.
- In the third spot, Tommaso Schold downed Wilson Igbinovia 6-2, 6-4.
- Pietro Martinetti took Loic Danze into three sets playing in fourth singles. Martinetti defeated Danze 5-7, 6-1, 10-2.
- Armin Trklja was victorious over Ilia Dehodiuk in three sets, with scores of 3-6, 6-1, 10-2.
DOUBLES:
- The pair of Cueto Ramos and Martinetti lost to Hornung and Hammond 5-7 in first doubles.
- In second doubles, Schold and Felix Steen beat Ilari Vesanen and Dehodiuk in a tie breaker 7-5.
- Perez and Sandrone defeated Nuutti Jokinen and Igbinovia 6-3.
