EATONTON, Ga. - The Columbus State University men's golf team finished in third place out of 15 teams in the first round on Monday, March 20. CSU is currently four strokes out of first place.
TEAM RESULTS:
The Cougars started of the Bobcat invitational strong with 284 total strokes for the first day. They are currently one shot ahead of West Florida and four strokes ahead of Georgia Southwestern and Clayton State who are both currently tied for fifth. Columbus State is three strokes off of Florida Southern who holds second place and CSU is four shots off of the first place North Georgia Nighthawks.Â
INDIVIDUAL RESULTS:
Martin Gruendemann is leading the way for the Cougars as he fired a 69 in the first round which also was the second best round of any golfer in the invitational.
Bernard Meyer was just as good as he shot two under par and
Phil Snyman right behind him with a 71. Meyer is currently tied for sixth and Snyman is tied for 15th.
Arran Kanth shot a 74 and
Karan Nalam shot a 79.Â
