COLUMBUS - The Columbus State University men's and women's tennis teams will travel to Montgomery, Ala. on Saturday, April 15. to face Alabama State University at 1 p.m. The Cougars will complete the road trip on Sunday, April 16. for a Peach Belt Conference match up against Young Harris College at 2 p.m. in Young Harris, Ga.
Men's Tennis
The Columbus State University Cougars are currently ranked No. 4 in the nation and No. 1 in the PBC standings. They currently post an overall record of 12-3 and are undefeated in conference action (4-0 PBC). Most recently the Cougars defeated No. 18 the University of North Georgia, 6-1 on the road.
- The Alabama State University men's tennis team currently posts an overall record of 8-11 (5-0 SWAC). They are ranked No. 1 in the Southwestern Athletic Conference standings. Their recent match up against Spring Hill College (Ala.) at home resulted in a 7-0 win for the Hornets improving their record at home to 5-2.
- Young Harris college will face Georgia College on Saturday, April 15. before meeting up with the Cougars on Sunday, April 16. In the current season they are 10-7 overall (0-3 PBC) and are last in the Peach Belt Conference standings. They defeated Shorter University with a score of 6-1 on Wednesday, April 12. at home. The Cougars are 10-0 against the Mountain Lions of YHC dating back to the first match up on Sunday, March 17. 2013 where CSU won 6-3.
Women's Tennis
The Columbus State University Lady Cougars are currently ranked No. 25 in the nation and No. 4 in the Peach Belt Conference. So far this season they are 9-5 overall and 3-2 in the PBC. They are on a one game losing streak after their most recent loss to No. 12 the University of North Georgia, 3-4 on the road.
- The women's tennis team of Alabama State University is currently 7-9 overall (7-2 SWAC). In the Southwestern Athletic Conference standings they are No. 3 right behind Jackson State. The Lady Hornets lost their most recent match to Mercer University on Sunday, April 9. in Macon, Ga.
- The women's tennis team of Young Harris College is currently 8-10 overall (1-3 PBC). They are sitting at No. 6 in the Peach Belt Conference standings. The Mountain Lions will face Georgia College and Piedmont University on Saturday, April 15. before meeting up with the Lady Cougars. Most recently they defeated Shorter University 6-1 on Wednesday, April 12. at home. CSU women's tennis is 9-0 against the Mountain Lions of YHC.
