PENSACOLA, Fla. - The Columbus State University men's golf team comes in tied for second out of 17 teams after the first two rounds on Monday, April 3. The Cougars are seven strokes out of first place.
TEAM RESULTS:
Columbus State as a team fired a 295 in the first round and shot the second lowest score of the day from any team in the second round with 282 total shots. CSU is tied with Limestone University for second place and they are two strokes ahead of fourth place Georgia Southwestern. West Florida leads the invitational at six under par and they are seven strokes ahead of the Cougars for first place.
INDIVIDUAL RESULTS:
Karam Nalam and
Martin Gruendemann led the way for the Cougars as both are one under par and tied for 12th after two rounds of the invitational. Nalam shot a 74 in the first round and a 69 on the second. Gruendemann fired a 73 on the first and 70 in the second.
Bernard Meyer is right behind them at even par as he had a 73 and a 71 to total 144 strokes for day one. He is currently tied for 17th.
Anthony Barr is three over par as he totaled 147 strokes for the first day.
Phil Snyman also competed in the first two rounds.
